Stitches for the Greater Good

The projects below all have one thing in common - trying to make the world better one stitch at a time. From knitting and crochet to sewing and skill teaching, there are many opportunities to make a difference in your community and across the globe.

Founded in 2007, Knots of Love provides hand-knit and crochet beanies to people going through chemo and blankets for babies in NICU incubators.

Loops of Kindness is dedicated to two main goals: fundraising for children’s education in Costa Rica through Etsy and providing opportunities to volunteer by crocheting items to be donated to communities in the United States, Costa Rica, and Peru. Join us in spreading kindness and knowledge through our fundraising efforts and volunteer programs. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and communities in need.

Project Linus provides handmade blankets to children 0-18 in the United States who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.

The Snuggles Project is a program of Hugs Society and helps provide blankets (or Snuggles!) to local animal shelters.

Knitted Knockers UK is a charity that provides knitted and crocheted breast prostheses for women in the UK who have undergone a mastectomy or lumpectomy.

Knitted Knockers are special handmade breast prostheses for women who have had breast cancer and undergone mastectomy or lumpectomy. Traditional breast prosthetics can be hot, heavy and sticky. They typically require special bras or camisoles with pockets and can’t be worn for weeks after surgery. Knitted Knockers are soft, comfortable, beautiful and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast. They are adjustable, washable and can even be worn while swimming. Our special volunteer knitters provide these FREE to those requesting them.

The Warm Up America! foundation, a 501C3 nonprofit, was founded in 1991 by Evie Rosen. It is committed to motivating, training and coordinating volunteers to knit and crochet afghans and clothing for people in need.
